During our online class today, we came up with this work schedule:
8:00AM = sign in to Teams and check your assignments and messages from Ms. Given (this should take about 5 minutes) 8:05AM - 9:00AM = ELA Work (assignments in Teams) 9:00AM - 10:00AM = I-Ready work (assignment in Teams). Remember, your goal is 45 FOCUSED minutes a week with completing and passing (75%) at least one lesson a week. 10:00AM - 10:40AM = Math Work (check Teams for assignments) 10:40am - 11:00AM = Break 11:00AM - 12:00PM = Finish Think Central, PE, Science, Social Studies, or attend Office Hours 1:00PM - 2:00PM = Class Meeting on Teams Remember, you can chat me on teams, message me on Class Dojo, call the school and leave a message, email me, call me, video call me - there are MANY ways to reach me if you run into a problem or need help with anything (or just want to say hi!). Class material pick up is THIS WEDNESDAY - May 6th - at Vang Pao. Please see the attached schedule for pick up time which is based upon grade level and last name. Items not picked up at the scheduled time must be picked up on Friday; items not picked up on Friday will be discarded.
When you come to pick up your class materials, this is also the time to return any school materials - instruments, library books, sports uniforms, books from my class library, etc. Do not return the school laptop / tablet - you need that to continue your distance learning. Super Important Information!
It's spirit week for room 101! Thank you to those students who have been participating and sending me photos of themselves dressing up with crazy hair, pajamas, and spots and dots. Your school spirit shows!
Monday, April 20th will be another packet pickup day for JUST OUR CLASS. Between 9am and 11am, I will be out by the teacher parking lot gate in front of the office. This will be the last packet that I will be doing for our class because laptops will be (hopefully) checked out that week. You will need to have an adult come with you to pick up the packet. Oh, wear your favorite color to pick up your packet, too! We are going to show our spirit by dressing up that way :) If you were not able to come last week, that's okay! If you are able to come this week, though, I will give you the resource packet that I handed out last time. I miss you all very, very much. Stay safe! Welcome back to school! It is going to be an exciting year during which we will learn how to make claims based upon relevant reasons and evidence, explore more of fractions and units of measurement, and focus on lots of different areas of earth science.
What are you most looking forward to learning about? Take a moment to reflect back upon this year. We have studied poetry, informational text, various types of narrative text, earthquakes, rocks, water cycle, penguins, and so much more. By the end of this week, reply to this post with a question that you would like to ask the penguin researcher who will be visiting our classroom. Remember to keep your questions based on the science that we studied!
In the comments to this post, write the title of your poem and a claim as to what you think the theme of the poem is. Remember to cite EVIDENCE in your claim. You can look back at your notes, annotations, and think about the thinking of others....
